FiDevStudio (“FiDevStudio”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) develops and operates Shopify applications, including Locatria, AI SEO Assistant, TagPilot AI, SortMind, Catalog Gatekeeper, and other applications that may be added in the future.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when merchants install or use our applications.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on the application and features used, we may process:
- Shopify store domain, store ID, shop name, and basic store information.
- Merchant account and contact information provided during support or onboarding.
- Product, collection, blog, inventory, dealer, location, tag, metadata, or other store data required to provide the requested application features.
- App settings, configuration values, usage activity, job status, and error logs.
- Aggregated analytics, such as feature usage, searches, clicks, imports, exports, and successful or failed operations.
- Technical information such as browser type, device information, IP address, and security logs.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for a specific feature and provided by the merchant.
Our applications are designed for merchants and store administration. We do not intentionally collect customer names, customer email addresses, payment card details, or precise customer location data unless a particular application feature clearly requires it.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain our Shopify applications.
- Authenticate merchants and maintain secure Shopify sessions.
- Read or update Shopify data only as authorized by the merchant and required by the selected features.
- Generate content, reports, recommendations, maps, analytics, or other requested outputs.
- Process imports, exports, automation jobs, and background tasks.
- Provide customer support and respond to requests.
- Monitor performance, prevent abuse, investigate errors, and improve reliability.
- Comply with legal obligations and Shopify platform requirements.
We do not sell merchant data or customer data.
3. Third-Party Service Providers
We may use trusted service providers to operate our applications, including:
- Shopify, for authentication and Shopify platform services.
- Hosting and database providers, for application infrastructure and data storage.
- Mapping, geocoding, or location providers when required by map-related features.
- AI or content-processing providers when required by content-generation features.
- Logging, monitoring, email, and security providers.
Service providers process information only for the purposes necessary to provide their services to FiDevStudio and our merchants.
For example, Locatria may send dealer addresses to a geocoding provider when the merchant requests automatic map coordinates. AI SEO Assistant may send limited merchant-provided content to an AI provider to generate requested suggestions.
4. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to:
- Provide the application and its features.
- Maintain merchant settings and application history.
- Resolve support requests and technical issues.
- Meet legal, security, accounting, and operational requirements.
When an application is uninstalled, we follow Shopify’s mandatory privacy and data-deletion requirements. Store-specific application data is deleted or anonymized within the applicable required period, unless retention is legally required.
5. Shopify Privacy Compliance
Our applications support Shopify’s privacy compliance processes, including:
- Customer data requests.
- Customer data deletion requests.
- Shop data deletion requests after app uninstallation.
If an application does not store customer data, the relevant request is handled by confirming that no customer records are stored by that application.
6. Merchant Responsibilities
Merchants are responsible for:
- Ensuring they have the right to provide any data submitted to our applications.
- Configuring application permissions appropriately.
- Informing their own customers about their store’s privacy practices.
- Maintaining any additional privacy notices required for their business, products, or jurisdictions.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information, including access controls, encrypted connections where supported, isolated store data, and secure hosting practices.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We continuously review and improve our security controls.
8. International Data Transfers
FiDevStudio and its service providers may process information in countries outside the merchant’s country of residence. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
9. Your Rights and Requests
Depending on applicable law, merchants may request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of information associated with their store.
