AI SEO Assistant (the “App”) helps merchants generate and manage SEO titles and descriptions for products and blog articles inside Shopify Admin. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when merchants install and use the App.
1) Information we collect
When a merchant installs and uses the App, we may collect and process:
• Store information: shop domain (e.g., example.myshopify.com), shop ID, and basic shop details available via Shopify.
• App usage data: actions performed in the App (e.g., generate, edit, save draft, publish), timestamps, and job/status data.
• Content data (merchant-provided): product and blog article data required to generate SEO content, such as titles, descriptions, handles, and existing SEO fields.
• Technical data: logs needed to operate and secure the App (e.g., error logs, IP address, device/browser metadata).
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data.
2) How we use information
We use the information to:
• Provide and operate the App’s features (generation, drafts, publishing, status tracking).
• Authenticate and maintain secure sessions with Shopify.
• Improve reliability, performance, and user experience.
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• Provide support and respond to inquiries.
3) AI processing (OpenAI)
To generate SEO suggestions, the App may send limited relevant content (for example, product titles/descriptions or blog content needed for the request) to OpenAI solely to produce AI-generated outputs requested by the merchant. We do not sell this data. We use it only to provide the generation results and to maintain the App.
4) Sharing and disclosure
We may share information only as needed:
• With Shopify to authenticate the App and access Shopify APIs as authorized by the merchant.
• With service providers (hosting, database, logging/monitoring, and OpenAI) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality and security obligations.
• For legal reasons if required to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or lawful requests
We do not sell merchant data or customer data.
5) Data retention
We retain App data only as long as needed to provide the App and meet legal, security, and operational requirements. When the App is uninstalled, we will delete or anonymize stored App data within a reasonable period, unless we must retain certain records for legal or security reasons.
6) Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect data, including access controls and encryption in transit where supported. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to maintain appropriate safeguards.
7) Merchant responsibilities
Merchants are responsible for ensuring they have the right to use any content they submit to the App and for complying with their own privacy obligations to their customers.
8) International transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than the merchant’s country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
9) Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data. To make a request, contact us at hello@fidevstudio.com.
10) Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and revise the effective date.
